Biography

Brandon Heath received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin Platteville, in 2004 with major emphases in the field of power & energy and a minor in mathematics. While in college, he had multiple summer intern experiences working in the Reliability department of 380 MW coal power plant and a co-op experience working Transmission Planning department, all with the Dairyland Power Cooperative utility. Upon college graduation he accepted a position with the regional transmission organization Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) in Saint Paul, Minnesota and worked there for over 15-years. While at MISO he helped develop the Resource Adequacy processes used by the RTO and as a Senior Advisor in the Policy Studies group researched the impacts of higher-levels or renewable integration. In 2020 for change in weather and environment he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and accepted a position at NV Energy as a Production Cost Modeling Lead in the Resource Planning & Analysis group, where he still enjoys using PLEXOS to perform Resource Forecasting analyses and Production Cost studies.
