Trained as ecologist/biologist working for more about decades in the interdisciplinary field of social ecology, and holding a position as an associate professor for land use and global change at the Institute of Social Ecology in Vienna. Focus of research: land system science, land use and climate (change), land use and the global carbon cycle, sustainability indicators.
