I am an experienced agricultural researcher especially in the use of beneficial insects to improve crop production. I am also engaged in Sanitary and Phytosanitary projects both on food safety, animal heath and plant health in East Africa. I am a team member to the Multi-institution technical Task Force on Fall Armyworm, Kenya. Currently, under Pest Risk Information Service a project funded by the UK Space Agency, I am involved in the development of pests models of selected pests and combining pest development data, field observations and earth observation data to develop pest risks and share with farmers and extension agents . The project targets small scale farmers in Kenya, Ghana, Zambia, Malawi and Rwanda. Target pests include, Fall Armyworm, stalk and stem borers on maize , Tuta absoluta on tomatoes amongst others. I am also involved in SPS Capacity building projects in the region to promote regional and international trade.
