Biography
Flavio is a climate scientist interested in daily to centennial climate variability, how it imprints on regional weather and climate, and how it influences our ability to detect and attribute changes in climate. He focuses on hydroclimate dynamics, large-scale atmospheric circulation, as well as extreme events. While rooted in fundamental science, he enjoys interdisciplinary projects and has worked at the intersection of applied science, mostly in the area of water resources.
