Biography
"Ilana has been working in Latin America for over a decade. She has led some of the most important and insightful studies investigating the working conditions experienced by sugarcane workers in Central America. For the past two years Ilana has been the Director of the acclaimed Worker Health and Efficiency (WE) Program, the first evaluation of whether improving work practices can prevent the onset of Chronic Kidney Disease of undetermined cause (CKDu). She has co-authored several scientific papers in leading medical journals and has collaborated extensively with an international network of stakeholders.
Ilana has a Masters of Public Health and a Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University. She is currently the Senior Director of Public Health and Policy at La Isla Foundation."
